What is MLS Laser Therapy?
MLS stands for “Multiwave Locked System” laser therapy. It is one of the latest types of FDA-approved Class IV laser treatment that uses certain wavelengths of light, applied by a specialized wand directly to the skin, to stimulate healing in damaged or injured tissues.
MLS laser therapy employs two different light wavelengths:
- 808nm—This type of light triggers cellular responses that lower inflammation to reduce swelling, pain, and discomfort naturally.
- 905nm—This wavelength of light triggers the body’s endorphin response, blocking pain signals and providing fast pain relief.
Benefits of MLS Laser Therapy: What to Expect
MLS laser therapy in Flower Mound is a quick, comfortable, outpatient procedure. Depending on the foot injury or condition being treated, a laser therapy appointment may last only a few minutes to about half an hour. Typically, patients benefit most from a series of sessions over a few weeks. During a session, we gently rub a laser therapy wand over the affected area. Most patients feel quick pain relief, and some say there is a slight warming of the area as well.
Patients also notice the following benefits:
- Fast, drug-free pain relief
- A reduction in inflammation and swelling
- Better blood circulation to the affected area
- Faster healing of injuries and improved outcomes for people with chronic foot pain
What Conditions Does MLS Laser Therapy Treat?
MLS laser therapy in Flower Mound penetrates deep into the foot or ankle’s soft tissues: muscles, ligaments, tendons, nerves, and blood vessels.
